With the latest FiT in place - part of impactful new energy-related legislature - the Vietnamese Solar PV market is set for tremendous growth. After the successful first PV Trade Mission in 2016 with a group of early pioneers, the time is now right for all those that want to reap the benefits arising from the improved market conditions and the introduction of a real framework for development. As always, the bankability of the scheme remains an important challenge, but with positive outlooks on the available returns and current business environment, this market provides a wealth of opportunities for international developers, investors, IPPs, service providers, suppliers and manufacturers.

Vietnam White Paper

White Paper - Vietnam

Southeast Asia is quickly becoming one of the most significant growth regions in the global PV market. The levels of solar irradiation, growing energy demand and increasing level of commitment by governments in the region to renewable energy generation, are just some of the factors that are sparking a growing interest from international stakeholders.
The purpose of this complimentary 13-page white paper is to provide an overview of one of its dormant key markets, Vietnam. It is a comprehensive market study for the private and public sector in the build up towards our second Solar PV Trade Mission Vietnam.

PAST Webinar /// PV for distributed generation, a winning case?

Thursday 21 September (RECORDINGS ARE AVAILABLE)

On September 21, Solarplaza organizes its second complimentary webinar  on the Vietnamese PV market.
With an in-depth look at the opportunities PV holds for embedded generation schemes.

Vietnam has been making headlines since the release of its FITs. Developers and investors are awaiting the final PPA circular in eager anticipation.
However, with the initial PPA considered less bankable than preferred, the distributed generation market can offer an opportunity to get a foothold in Vietnam. Especially (international) commercial and industrial power consumers show a growing interest into PV solutions, be it for CSR commitments, securing energy price and supply, or as a lucrative investment.

Rainer Brohm will present on different schemes that can work in the Vietnamese market.

  • GIZ project studies for rooftop PV, their modeling and business cases
  • Status update on net metering policy
  • Potential business models for C&I off-takers in Vietnam

WHAT PEOPLE SAID

"The Trade Mission is a great format - you’re spending time reflecting on the market with business partners from breakfast until late at night at the bar having a beer. I can’t think of ever having participated in a more informative format than this!” - Partner //// Voltiq

“SolarPlaza people know how to organize an event, and they deliver what they promise in terms of contacts, content and market knowledge. This kind of seminar is extremely helpful, for how it is structured, when you need to approach an opening market with no previous local support and a lot to learn in a very short time.” - GM Project Management /// JA Solar
